About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing logistics program efforts
- Serve as liaison between program management, planning, and the project team
- Review project and budget status
- Manage schedules and prepare routine status reports
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention, and problem solving
- Oversee logistics support planning and execution, including maintenance planning, supply support, and training, for surface combatant and other programs
- Coordinate with shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and subcontractors on materials and logistics support for ship alteration, repair, and overhaul work packages
- Support configuration management activities documenting the current status of ships, systems, and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ten (10) years of logistics experience
- Five (5) years of experience in Navy Project Management involving all aspects of Logistics Support Planning and Execution on surface combatant programs
- Five (5) years of experience in logistics planning and execution activities supporting a surface combatant program/project office, including maintenance planning, supply support, and training
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or business-related field
- Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience
- Full working knowledge of program procedures and practices
- Ability to monitor daily work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt employees and provide direction to subordinates as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for such clearance
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including extended stays in support of overseas customer engagements
- Must possess a current passport
- Must be able to obtain base access and a CAC card
- Experience supporting multi-site or complex naval programs, including shipbuilding/overhaul environments
- Experience supporting international customer engagements involving foreign government information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification preferred
- A current or active DoD security clearance preferred
- May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment
- Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level
