About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support production, sustaining, and new product introduction efforts through manufacturing engineering analysis and implementation
  • Respond to production issues and provide hands-on support to diagnose and resolve manufacturing problems
  • Perform failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation for product and process nonconformances
  • Develop, document, and implement manufacturing process updates to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost
  • Recommend and support design improvements for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, reliability, and producibility
  • Communicate manufacturing issues, process changes, and improvement plans to appropriate departments
  • Provide documentation for manufacturing support, work instructions, process flows, and engineering changes
  • Support development and release of technical data packages, manufacturing methods, and production documentation
  • Drive configuration management in products and manufacturing processes
  • Estimate production and cost impacts for manufacturing changes, process improvements, and design updates
  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, production layouts, machine arrangements, and operation sequences
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools and initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control
  • Provide engineering guidance on design concepts and specification requirements
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  • Experience in defense manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with failure Root Cause and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) preferred
  • Experience in a direct production support/response role preferred
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing process development, documentation, and continuous improvement preferred
  • Experience supporting engineering changes and configuration management in production preferred
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical data packages preferred
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production preferred
  • Experience working in a cross functional team environment preferred
  • Experience supporting electro-mechanical assembly or complex systems manufacturing preferred
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
  • May require work in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environments
