About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as NSWC-Corona’s LVC technical and operations Subject Matter Expert in support of LVC training events
  • Communicate technical or operational issues and new requirements to leadership
  • Leverage LVC capabilities and strategies aligned with training program goals
  • Oversee implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems
  • Ensure systems meet technical standards and training requirements
  • Coordinate and plan systems and personnel support for events with MTEN, NCTE operators and engineers, and external JLVC teams
  • Adjust working hours occasionally to match event time zones around the world
  • Travel occasionally for event planning conferences
  • Use Confluence and JIRA to share event schedules, documents, and after-action reports
  • Identify, document, report, and track issues
  • Keep technical personnel, NSWC-Corona, BSC leadership, and other stakeholders informed of status

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Experience working with Military, Government and Contractor Leadership
  • Flexibility to work non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours
  • Understanding of designing, supporting, or executing training/operational events integrating live forces, virtual simulators, and computer-generated elements across tactical and operational levels
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance, with ability to upgrade to US Top Secret if required
  • Knowledge of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems and operations
  • Knowledge of Marine Constructive Suite, Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) simulation, or other HLA/DIS modeling tools
  • Prior military service leadership level highly desired
  • Tactical Training Range operations and management
  • USMC combat and training systems or Aviation combat and training systems
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
