About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop business intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies
Identify, clean, transform, and load data into data models
Create data models, establish relationship cardinality and cross-filter direction, and build complex measures
Create reports, dashboards, scorecards, data explorations, and visual analytics
Partner with OIG customers and OCIO technical team members on requirements definitions, solution designs, technical architecture, and delivery
Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and business analysts
Leverage data warehouses, data marts, and database models for business, financial, and operational analysis and reporting
Develop high-performing, reliable, and scalable solutions
Optimize performance of new and existing data models and communicate technical details to business and management staff
Perform data analysis supporting OIG information management systems and services
Author and oversee design documents for approved projects
Develop, publish, and schedule reports and dashboards using existing and emerging tools
Provide feedback and coaching to team members on Microsoft Power BI and related technologies
Recommend new and emerging technologies and concepts to OCIO team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Implement solutions using Microsoft Power BI tool suite and related technologies
Proficient in complex Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and M (Power) Queries
Experience developing interactive dashboards, including parameters, actions, and navigation
Experience creating dataflows or datamarts
Experience designing composite models
Experience applying roles and Row Level Security (RLS) to reports, apps, and workspaces
Experience with Report Builder and developing paginated reports
Experience with database systems such as Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, or SQL Server
4+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management
2+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high-value solutions
Experience performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructures
2+ years of experience working in a client-facing technical role
Expert knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, data marts, data stores, cubes, data quality and profiling, data governance, data management, metadata management, data visualization, dashboard design, reporting, self-service BI, data KPIs, scorecards, and predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics
Proficiency in one or more of SQL, SAS, R, or Python
Eager to contribute to a team-oriented environment
Able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred: experience with medallion architecture, Databricks, sensitive law enforcement and case management data, Government software development policies and procedures, and PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Dataverse integration with Power BI
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field OR PL300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Certification or equivalent
