About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Source, purchase, plan, and schedule the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory processes
Identify raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules
Purchase, plan, and coordinate material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences
Analyze data and determine price-affecting factors and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and required schedules
Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, and follow up on orders
Approve payment and maintain records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycles
Coordinate with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services

Requirements

What you’ll need

3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
Experience obtaining vendor quotes and validating cost, lead time, and vendor reliability per Statement of Work (SOW) requirements
Strong communication and coordination skills for interacting with vendors, suppliers, task leads, and management
Ability to coordinate deliveries and pickups to maintain task schedules
Proficiency in creating purchase orders, entering data, and maintaining BOMs, spreadsheets, and material lists
Ability to generate management reports on materials and funding status
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment
Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
