About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare status reports
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients
- Oversee and manage operational aspects of ongoing projects
- Serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
- Assist in developing contract-required products, including technical direction plans, rough order of magnitude pricing, and risk-register management
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
- 4+ years of experience supporting complex technical projects and/or programs within the Department of Defense (DOD)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other project management software
- Strong organization and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of tools like MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with a functionally diverse team
- Strong working knowledge of DOD project management standards, risk management practices and compliance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Preferred: Possess and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Preferred: Project Management Professional or other project management certification
- Preferred: Familiarity with DOD-specific project management methodologies, process and reporting tools such as MS Projects
