About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
  • Allocate and manage resources across multiple projects
  • Identify and assess program and project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, report to stakeholders, and implement corrective actions
  • Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with contracts, industry standards, and regulations
  • Lead and motivate project managers, engineers, analysts, and other professionals
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs, monitor milestones, and provide stakeholder updates
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, reporting requirements, deliverables, and regulations
  • Drive continuous process improvement and implement best practices
  • Support Department of Defense Geographic Combatant Command customers
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required
  • May visit job sites in industrial or shipboard environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the defense industry or government contracting
  • Strong knowledge of defense industry practices, regulations, and contractual requirements
  • Experience managing multi-year contracts with greater than $20M annual revenue and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, including risk management
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • 5+ years of experience managing Defense Aerospace or Airborne ISR contracts
  • 3+ years of experience managing Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) contracts supporting the Department of Defense
  • 3+ years of experience using Smartsheet and Office365 products
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or DAWIA Level III Program Management certification (bonus points)
  • Secret or higher (TS/SCI) clearance (bonus points)
