About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings, including flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
- Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
- Conduct preliminary data analyses and make quantitative judgments concerning technical data
- Use personal computer applications for analyses and development of documentation and reports
- Conduct tests and record data to support engineering evaluation or analysis
- Provide direction and guidance to lower-level non-exempt employees
- Serve as lead worker on assigned tasks
- Coordinate with shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and subcontractors on ship alteration, repair, and overhaul work packages
- Support configuration management activities documenting the current status of ships, systems, and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Eight (8) years of engineering experience, including at least five (5) years of specific naval engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or business-related field
- Advanced knowledge in specialized engineering functions and practical application to complex problems and situations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a SECRET security clearance
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including extended stays supporting overseas customer engagements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and CAC card
- Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience is highly desirable
- Experience supporting multi-site or complex naval programs, including shipbuilding/overhaul environments
- Experience supporting international customer engagements involving foreign government information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements
- A current or active DoD security clearance is preferred
- Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity
