About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Control the efficient flow of goods, services, and information from point of origin through customer placement
- Ensure execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, including replenishment systems, data interchange systems, demand management, and electronic data systems administration
- Build relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives
- Integrate learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to improve competitive position
- Support logistics planning and execution, including maintenance planning, supply support, packing/handling/transportation, and training
- Support configuration management activities documenting the current status of ships, systems, and equipment
- Coordinate with shipyards, OEMs, and subcontractors on materials and logistics support for ship alteration, repair, and overhaul work packages
Requirements
What you’ll need- Six (6) years of experience in logistics planning and execution activities supporting a naval surface or undersea program/project office, including maintenance planning, supply support, packing/handling/transportation, and training
- Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards
- Ability to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for SECRET clearance
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including extended stays for overseas customer engagements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and CAC card
- Must be able to work in a shipboard environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or business-related field preferred
- Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience highly desirable
- Experience supporting international customer engagements involving foreign government information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements preferred
- Current or active security clearance preferred
