About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain program documentation
  • Support proposal reviews and serve, when assigned by the customer, in a non-voting advisory role for program source selections
  • Coordinate documentation between internal and external functional organizations
  • Support program milestone planning and preparation
  • Support risk management and process improvement
  • Support internal and external program meetings
  • Evaluate and communicate program progress through writing, briefings, and discussions with the Program Office and higher management
  • Develop and coordinate responses to taskers concerning internal and external program inquiries
  • Support acquisition program management across procurement, financial management and planning, systems engineering, test, production, security, contracting, and logistics throughout the weapon system lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 13 years relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; or 10 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience
  • Five years must have been in an acquisition program office on an ACAT I or ACAT II DoD acquisition program as Program/Project Manager, deputy PM, or Integrated Product Team lead, within two years of selection
  • Experience developing and coordinating DoD 5000.02 acquisition milestone plans and associated reporting documentation for ACAT I and/or ACAT II acquisition programs
  • Less than four years of SAP experience is acceptable
  • Experience preparing documentation, presentation materials, and staff packages for acquisition milestone coordination and decisions
  • Experience managing quality review and standing up manufacturing capability during Engineering, Manufacturing and Development and Production phases on an ACAT I or equivalent development program
  • Experience assisting program offices with manufacturing readiness assessments per the DoD Manufacturing Readiness Level Guide
  • Experience with government oversight of prime contractor and subcontractor manufacturing teams
  • Level II Acquisition Professional Development Program certification
  • Experience and capability to support assigned program management tasks and lead support personnel
  • TS/SCI security clearance
