About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee software from acquisition through retirement
- Plan and coordinate deployment, patching, upgrades, accreditation, and end-of-life transitions
- Ensure compliance with DoD policies, STIGs, RMF, and DISA guidance
- Support testing and validation of updates and new releases
- Maintain configuration control, documentation, and version tracking
- Identify software risks, recommend mitigations, and communicate impacts
- Coordinate with cybersecurity and system administration teams for secure lifecycle integration
- Manage SLAs with vendors and mission partners
- Track and report SLA performance metrics
- Address vendor performance issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Align support agreements with mission needs, budgets, and sustainment plans
- Oversee licensing, renewals, maintenance contracts, and technical support agreements
- Serve as primary liaison for software sustainment and SLA concerns
- Provide lifecycle guidance to PMO leadership and mission stakeholders
- Coordinate with test teams for software readiness during interoperability and training events
- Support acquisition and budget planning with lifecycle cost and vendor performance data
- Maintain software asset inventories, lifecycle statuses, patch levels, and support agreements
- Produce dashboards, reports, briefings, and SOPs
- Ensure documentation aligns with DoD and JITTC-N governance requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 3 years relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 0 years experience with a Ph.D. or Juris Doctorate, or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
- Experience in DoD or similar regulated environments performing software lifecycle or enterprise IT support
- Expertise in software lifecycle planning and sustainment processes
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, STIG compliance, and patch management methodologies
- Understanding of SLA development, vendor oversight, and performance management
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance, with supporting SAP/SPR clearances
- Preferred: Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
- Preferred: Experience supporting simulation, test, or distributed training environments such as LVC architectures
- Preferred: ITIL certification or ITSM framework experience
- Preferred: CITAM or CSAM certification, or equivalent credential
- Preferred: Experience with DoD acquisition processes, service contracts, or enterprise licensing models
- Required ability to work in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environments; climb ladders; and tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
