About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems
Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations
Monitor system performance and take corrective actions
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
Maintain system documentation and configuration records
Perform account management and access control tasks
Support RMF compliance and system hardening requirements
Assist users with system access and operational issues
Ensure reliability and availability of mission-critical systems
Coordinate with cybersecurity teams on remediation and monitoring activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
Experience administering Linux systems in production or enterprise environments
Strong command-line Linux administration skills
Hands-on experience with enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian)
Experience troubleshooting system, network, and service issues
Experience with systemd, storage and file systems, networking configuration, package management, SSH, and secure remote administration
Ability to meet DoD Linux administrator certification requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
Familiarity with Bash or Python scripting preferred
Understanding of Git workflows is a plus but not required
Basic experience with cloud environments (AWS) or Kubernetes is optional but beneficial
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline
