About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer, maintain, and provide cybersecurity defense for Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network client and server systems
  • Support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services across the NITE
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server
  • Manage Group Policy
  • Create and modify DHCP reservations
  • Patch systems and apply STIGs
  • Develop standard operating procedures
  • Provide training to junior personnel
  • Deliver Tier 2 technical support
  • Work with cross-functional teams to update, monitor, and maintain enterprise servers and workstations
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in coordination with network administrators
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
  • Recommend hardware and software purchases
  • Coordinate installations and provide backup recovery
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for computing-resource allocation
  • Set up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Tune system performance
  • Install system-wide software
  • Allocate mass storage space

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Security+ (or equivalent) certification
  • U.S. Secret security clearance, held and maintained
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, WSUS/SCCM, Windows 10 SHB, and Microsoft server/workstation patching
  • Skilled in implementing DoD STIGs
  • Experience with VMware and familiarity with VDI technologies
  • Strong technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to understand complex technical information
  • Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Experience installing release upgrades highly preferred
  • RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired
  • Server-focused experience highly desired
  • Linux+ or Microsoft certification preferred
