About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators
- Set up administrator and service accounts
- Maintain system documentation
- Tune system performance
- Install system-wide software
- Allocate mass storage space
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
- Recommend hardware and software purchases
- Coordinate installations
- Provide backup recovery
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation and use of computing resources
- Install, check out, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate information technology hardware, software, wiring, and systems
- Document installations and related issues
- Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways
- Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities
- Support a multi-national capability connecting national Secret networks and services for improved information sharing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 8 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
- Applicable common System Engineering certification(s), such as MSCE, CSEP, CCNA, or CISSP
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- US Citizen
- Experience working with ServiceNow preferred
- Experience working in or for the military preferred
- Expertise in multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments preferred
- Experience or interest in materials, material applications, defense systems, and/or supply chains preferred
- Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques preferred
- Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail preferred
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills preferred
- Agile/Scrum, Kanban familiarity preferred
