About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, integrate, test, and field autonomous maritime vehicles
- Apply systems, integration, and test experience and technical knowledge to solve unmanned-systems engineering challenges
- Work within a multidisciplinary team
- Analyze total-system products across concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
- Convert customer and mission needs into system requirements
- Develop and maintain accurate systems documentation
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses
- Convert customer or product requirements into total-systems solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies
- Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level 1: 0 years experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
- Level 2: 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
- Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
- Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 7 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
- Domain knowledge of robotics and naval mission applications, especially autonomous vehicles
- Experience with requirements management
- Experience with JAMA or similar requirements management tools
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design, simulation and data analysis
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite, such as JIRA/Confluence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work in office, industrial, or shipboard environments; climb ladders; tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances; and lift or move materials as required
