About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Maritime Operations Center – Exercise Support Team and Naval Surface Warfare Center – Corona in delivering Navy LVC training
  • Assist with planning, design, and execution of Operational-level Fleet Synthetic Training events for Fleet and task force staffs, including reserve personnel
  • Provide support for onsite and distributed training events at other Norfolk, Virginia locations as required
  • Ensure sustainment teams and event support personnel have valid standard configurations for assigned and integrated trainers and training capabilities
  • Maintain valid NCTE Coalition network activations for partner nation training capabilities
  • Monitor service disruption notices and coordinate mitigation or schedule adjustments for conflicts
  • Coordinate engineering resources and engineering reach-back support
  • Track additional travel hours and daily work hours for technical resources and provide information to the site manager
  • Identify training architecture hardware and assets supporting events and prevent disruptive updates and reboots
  • Troubleshoot LVC system issues and configure system interfaces according to documented standards
  • Report technical casualties or disruptions according to NCTE procedures and coordinate elevated engineering support when needed
  • Collaborate with event technical leads and engineering teams to meet mission requirements
  • Develop event-specific diagrams using integrated capabilities and NCTE processes
  • Determine integration status of required trainers and capabilities and document them on the event status page
  • Advise event technical leads on training system capabilities, limitations, and modeling and simulation issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and Windows operating systems
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Technical leadership ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
  • Familiarity with MS Office
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret Clearance, with potential upgrade to Top Secret
  • Ability to climb ladders and tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required
