About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support to the Navy Continuous Training Environment and Navy Training Baseline
  • Lead planning and execution of LVC training events
  • Deploy and configure NTB software components across the NCTE enterprise
  • Perform engineering and project tasks sustaining LVC products and integrated capabilities
  • Serve as Engineering Technical Lead for NCTE Fleet Synthetic Training, LVC, and COCOM-level training events
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering leads to define, align, and execute technical requirements
  • Install and configure NTB software releases, upgrades, and patches
  • Support NTB setup and configuration during training events
  • Evaluate and resolve moderately complex software-related problems
  • Develop manning and resourcing plans for NCTE training event execution
  • Perform pre-event interoperability risk assessment and mitigation
  • Architect scalable systems and maintain DoDAF SV-1 and SV-2 architecture artifacts using tools such as Microsoft Visio
  • Develop and maintain technical architecture, configuration, and status documentation
  • Direct real-time technical operations and monitor end-to-end NTB system health during LVC events
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across LVC environments, including NTB interoperability, HLA/DIS protocols, and interface standards
  • Deliver real-time technical support during LVC training exercises

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Advanced capabilities including command line interface, scripting, network interface configuration, device configuration, domain management, and file sharing/mapping
  • Technical leadership ability and ability to assign engineers from appropriate domains to resolve issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office
  • Current CompTIA Security + certification
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Top Secret clearance
  • Willingness/capability to work in office, industrial, or shipboard environments; climb ladders; tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances; and lift/move materials when required
