About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support MSO, under direction, with technical trades installation, repair, maintenance and modification of equipment and related structures and systems at customer and/or field locations
  • Assist experienced trades personnel with removal, installation and upgrade of industrial and shipboard systems
  • Gain hands-on experience with tools and equipment under the direction of senior technical tradespersons
  • Supply or hold materials and tools
  • Clean work areas, machines and equipment
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to installation, maintenance and repair of systems and equipment
  • Apply job skills and company policies to tasks varying by job, contract, customer requirements and specifications
  • Display quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement, responsibility and performance consistent with company values
  • Travel to shipyards and military bases in the Hampton Roads region, throughout the United States and internationally when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or Trade school or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures
  • Must be able to obtain medical clearance to wear a half-face respirator
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DBIDS/CAC badge for base access/credentials
  • Must have experience working in a team environment
  • Must be able to travel 50%-75% of the time
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport at least 30 lbs
  • Able to work on and climb ladders
  • Able to work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
  • Able to work in high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, including working aloft or over the sides of vessels
  • May ride ships at sea for extended periods
  • May require wearing a respirator
  • Prior shipboard experience, technical trades experience, current/active DoD confidential clearance or higher, and related technical training, degrees, and/or certifications are bonus qualifications
