About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with Product Development Engineering to bridge product design and manufacturing for new product introductions
Develop systems allowing rapidly prototyped parts to be safely used in early customer builds
Analyze requirements and develop manufacturing processes
Ensure smooth transitions to production
Identify and implement process-optimization solutions
Act as a technical leader for platform integration
Establish manufacturing processes across various production areas with Operations and other Manufacturing Engineers
Facilitate seamless transitions of new products into a high-mix production environment
Engage in early design concepts with a focus on design for excellence
Structure bills of materials for manufacturing scalability
Develop work instructions and routings within an MES system
Identify and track critical process parameters for yield and process improvements
Plan, prepare, train, and execute manufacturing transfers
Identify automation opportunities and assist with implementation
Design assembly lines to meet takt times and balance production lines
Execute continuous-improvement and development projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/MS in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering
2+ years of experience in a mixed production environment
Knowledge and experience with structured problem-solving tools and techniques
Knowledge and experience with SPC tools and process control implementation
Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing methodologies
Experience leading Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and DFX activities
Ability to perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods
Good manual dexterity and coordination
Ability to occasionally move or position objects up to 20 lbs.
Ability to remain stationary for 40% of the time
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
Ability to exchange accurate information
Ability to operate in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment
Ability to operate a computer and office productivity machinery
Ability to observe documents and details at close range
Dedication to safety when handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
