About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with cross-functional technical teams to drive new and sustaining engineering solutions across four product families
  • Support the Remote Plasma Source, Ozone, IR Spectroscopy, and Microwave product lines within the Plasma Solutions business unit
  • Perform system- and board-level testing to validate products against design goals and specifications
  • Develop, document, and execute design verification testing
  • Review and implement electronics designs, concepts, and solutions with technical teams
  • Report results and recommend engineering tradeoffs to optimize performance, reliability, and product cost
  • Troubleshoot volume-manufactured products and perform failure analysis on returned units
  • Create and review design Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and problem-solving exercises
  • Report to the Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical engineering and/or product engineering role
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, high voltage probes, power meters, and similar tools to independently test and debug circuits
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing design verification test plans
  • Experience with system and board-level failure analysis
  • Experience with resonant tank circuits, RF inverters, and DC/DC converters
  • Experience participating in cross-functional engineering projects
  • Experience with thermal detectors, MCT sensors, thermoelectric coolers, near/mid IR filters, interferometers, optics, and mirrors used in NDIR and FTIR spectroscopy
  • Understanding of vacuum system infrastructure including MFCs, pressure controllers, and vacuum pumps
  • Skill in designing and testing complex hardware/embedded software systems
  • Must be within commutable distance of Methuen & Wilmington, Massachusetts
  • Able to travel approximately 5% annually
  • Eligible to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available
