About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a backend developer on an agile software team
- Develop and enhance scalable backend services for a data-intensive frontend application
- Develop software solutions for communication and information flows in transport and train dispatch operations
- Take responsibility for the entire software development lifecycle
- Ensure automated build and deployment processes using GitLab CI/CD
- Apply test-driven development and create robust, maintainable tests
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and Product, QA, DevOps, Data Backend, and Frontend teams
- Design solutions through cross-functional collaboration
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in Node.js/TypeScript backend development
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL and Apache Kafka
- Knowledge of Java is a plus
- Experience with AWS Cloud, preferably AWS Lambda (serverless)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab, as well as Docker
- Ability to work across multiple layers and data sources and resolve integration issues
- Experience with test-driven development, ideally using Spock
- Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
- Initial experience with Liquibase and AppSync is a plus
- Strong teamwork, communication, and initiative
- Fluent in German
- Good spoken and written English skills
