About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build reliable, well-tested core backend services, APIs, orchestration, and access control
  • Shape API design and developer experience for internal and external platform consumers
  • Contribute to reference architecture and design records while maintaining clean, swappable boundaries
  • Build multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure with isolation, quotas, and usage metering
  • Build reliable, idempotent data and integration on-ramps, connector frameworks, and governed data access at scale
  • Own services end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and on-call
  • Model failure modes such as partial failure, retries, consistency, and back-pressure
  • Work with product teams and customers to validate results, outcomes, and value
  • Instrument and measure impact and use evidence to guide delivery
  • Build automated QA, quality gates, and regression checks into the delivery pipeline
  • Contribute to hiring, interviews, mentoring, and team development
  • Partner with product teams across the portfolio on their roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Production distributed systems: built and operated production backend or distributed services that other teams depend on
  • End-to-end ownership of correctness, tests, and operations
  • Ability to describe systems through trade-offs made, not only technologies used
  • Clear communication with engineers, product partners, and customers
  • Focus on outcomes and value with pragmatic decisions to ship
  • Bonus: multi-tenant SaaS experience, gateways and orchestration at scale, integration frameworks (API/EDI/CDC), production LLM-backed services, C#/.NET or Python; Go is a bonus, architecture experience, enterprise-scale software, and productive use of AI coding assistants
  • Demonstrated experience and scope valued over years served
