About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a small Scrum team of approximately 4–7 engineers
  • Build, modernize, and support enterprise SaaS applications using agentic development processes
  • Lead team people, technology, and delivery while remaining hands-on in software development
  • Conduct 1:1s, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and promote effective Agile practices
  • Partner with Product and QA to refine work, define acceptance criteria, and align delivery with priorities
  • Manage team capacity, commitments, risks, dependencies, and release milestones
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical direction and lead design and architectural decisions
  • Perform design, coding, code reviews, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation
  • Guide modernization efforts and promote sound engineering practices
  • Champion CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code quality, and technical debt reduction
  • Partner with Architecture, DevOps, Systems, and Security to build secure, scalable, reliable solutions
  • Lead adoption of agentic development practices
  • Use AI coding agents across planning, development, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation
  • Establish standards for reviewing, testing, securing, and validating AI-generated code
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and delivery through agentic development
  • Communicate technical decisions, delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders
  • Contribute to broader Engineering practices and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8–10 years of professional software development experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or team leadership experience
  • Strong hands-on software development background
  • Experience with enterprise applications, SaaS, microservices, or distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, SDLC, CI/CD, testing, and production support
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and facilitating Scrum ceremonies
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive to continuously learn and improve
  • Experience using AI coding agents or other agentic development tools
  • Understanding of how to apply AI coding agents responsibly and effectively
  • Experience with technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, relational databases, REST APIs, event-driven systems, AWS, CI/CD, and automated testing is beneficial
