About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations pertaining to Colorado family law
- Draft and review petitions, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
- Manage client communications, scheduling, inquiries, and client files
- Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Attend client meetings, court hearings, and mediation sessions as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards when handling sensitive legal information
- Handle billing, timekeeping, and file management
- Stay informed about changes in Colorado family law legislation and procedural rules
- Provide high-quality legal support to clients and attorneys
- Attend in-person court appearances, client meetings, and other firm-related events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Reliable internet connection and workstation capable of supporting productive work from home during normal business hours
- Licensed Legal Paraprofessional certification in Colorado is required
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred
- Colorado Certified Paralegal (CP) designation or completion of an accredited paralegal program
- Some experience with family law preferred
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Familiarity with legal case management software such as Clio or MyCase is a plus
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and Zoom
- Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail
- Flexibility to respond quickly to changing client needs and legal deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive case management
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends
