About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support individuals in recovery from substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Group Facilitator to meet clients’ needs in accordance with treatment plans
  • Provide individual sessions to clients in need of these services
  • Provide recovery education across every phase of the recovery journey
  • Help recovering persons identify personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery
  • Coach recovering persons to develop plans for advancing their recovery
  • Facilitate transitions from professional services to community-based services
  • Promote self-advocacy and ensure clients’ needs, goals, and objectives remain central to services
  • Identify and support linkages to community resources
  • Provide hope and encouragement for community-based activities
  • Develop relationships with community groups and agencies
  • Identify barriers to participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Provide teletherapy services including evaluation, assessment, consultation, treatment planning, case management, coaching, individual therapy, couple/family therapy, and group therapy
  • Deliver telehealth primarily through interactive audio, video, telephone, and/or other audio/video communications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university
  • Must be 21 years of age (licensing requirement)
  • Must be able to provide Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
  • Must understand and respect everyone's unique path to recovery
  • Working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system
  • Demonstrated commitment to the recovery community
  • Comfortable working with both adolescent and adult populations
  • Ability to provide services via video conferencing/teletherapy when determined appropriate for clients and the organization
