About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze raw material demand and initiate purchase requisitions, ensuring delivery with the lowest possible cash commitment
- Analyze inventory and recommend alternative materials
- Monitor changes in production requirements and adjust the purchasing plan to prevent production shortages or excessive inventory levels
- Configure purchasing system parameters, such as lead time and economic order quantity
- Monitor requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery deadlines, and provide updates to the production chain (manufacturing, production planning and control, warehouse, purchasing, and sales) regarding their status
- Monitor the release of the Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure material availability according to the project schedule
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize material utilization
- Control material scrap and waste generated during production to enable accurate materials replanning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Production or Logistics Management, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience in materials planning
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Strong data analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Preferred: Power BI and Advanced Excel skills
- Preferred: SAP key-user experience
- Preferred: Knowledge of structural materials (sheet metal, hollow sections, and beams) and infrastructure materials (cables, wire mesh cable trays, etc.)
