About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform strength analysis of laminated-wood wind turbine towers
- Ensure towers withstand extreme loads throughout their service life
- Develop tools and methods to apply wind-turbine OEM load cases to structures and sub-components
- Develop novel structural-analysis methods beyond standard design guidelines
- Collaborate with product development experts in engineering design, method development, mechanical testing, and CAE analysis
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing and installation technology teams
- Influence design decisions through strength-property-driven analysis
Requirements
What you’ll need- MSc in Mechanical, Civil, Physics Engineering, or equivalent
- At least 10 years of professional experience in FE analysis
- Experience in fatigue assessment and theory
- A couple of years of experience in ANSYS
- Experience with complex loads and strength analysis
- Interest or experience exploring AI contributions to FE analysis
- Ability to read and extract information from scientific papers
- Ability to understand product requirements from manufacturing and installation perspectives
- Knowledge in Python or Matlab (wishlist)
- Experience with strength analysis of fiber composites (wishlist)
- Experience validating numerical simulations with physical testing (wishlist)
