About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist and support designs and construction projects by studying project concepts, architectural drawings, and models
- Assist with engineering designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, soil composition tests, terrain data, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
- Create feasibility studies by analyzing engineering designs, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
- Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development, including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
- Perform calculations and prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and reports
- Assist in producing engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
- Perform limited field observations supporting construction and data collection
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineer in Training certification preferred
- 0 to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer
- Related internship experience required for entry-level candidates
- Preferably experience in site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D
- MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software desired
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Availability and willingness to travel
- Must show post-offer proof of U.S. citizenship
- Must successfully complete a thorough post-offer background check, including checks that may cover credit and criminal history
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment post-offer background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
- Must have the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and present required documentation at hire
- Some site visits may require navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment
