About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist and support designs and construction projects by studying project concepts, architectural drawings, and models
  • Assist preparation of engineering designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, soil composition tests, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
  • Create feasibility studies by analyzing engineering designs, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
  • Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development, including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
  • Perform calculations and prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and reports
  • Assist production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
  • Perform limited field observations supporting construction and data collection
  • Travel and conduct occasional site visits as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Engineer in Training certification preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer
  • Related internship experience required for entry-level candidates
  • Preferably experience with site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software desired
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Selected candidate must show post-offer proof of U.S. citizenship
  • Successful completion of a thorough post-offer background check, potentially including credit and criminal history
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment post-offer background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and present required documentation at hire
  • Ability to navigate unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment during some site visits
