About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop project designs, plans, quantities, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Work as a member of an integrated Transportation Group design team
  • Work directly under licensed Engineers
  • Learn and apply established civil engineering principles and practices
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and work as part of a team
  • Design and prepare documents for minor and major roadways
  • Design and prepare documents for sidewalks and shoulder improvements
  • Work on drainage design projects
  • Assist project managers with plan preparation
  • Assist with cost estimates
  • Assist with report writing
  • Assist with client coordination
  • Assist with permitting
  • Participate in national workshare and potentially work on projects outside local/state markets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 2-5 years of experience working with an engineering consulting firm required
  • Experience in transportation roadway design required
  • Experience working with State DOT projects is a plus
  • Experience working with MicroStation required
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other computer-aided design platforms
  • Experience with Civil 3D
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and present required documentation at hire
  • Ability to work sedentary for prolonged periods, interact with clients, and travel occasionally
