About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist physicians with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with diverse medical problems, procedures, and co-morbidities
  • Provide outpatient palliative care as part of the Supportive Care Medicine Department
  • Provide patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Coordinate with specialists to optimize patient care
  • Correlate subjective and objective data to formulate differential or working diagnoses
  • Formulate treatment plans within scope of practice
  • Perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice when appropriate
  • Prescribe oral and IV medications within scope of practice
  • Document patient care according to medical staff rules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program
  • Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Certification by the appropriate accreditation body
  • Active BLS
  • Experience in oncology or general internal medicine
  • Experience specific to the specialty is preferred but not required
  • Work within a defined scope of practice and under supervising physician authority or specific protocols
