About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist physicians with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients across medical oncology disciplines
- Work within a defined scope of practice under supervising physicians or specific protocols
- Provide patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Coordinate and optimize patient care with specialists
- Correlate subjective and objective data to formulate differential or working diagnoses
- Formulate treatment plans within scope of practice
- Perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice when applicable
- Prescribe oral and IV medications when appropriate
- Document patient care according to medical staff rules
- Manage acute medical issues related to chemotherapeutic infusions and rapid responses on campus
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program
- Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
- Certification by the appropriate accreditation body
- Active BLS and active ACLS, both AHA approved
- Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; specific experience preferred
