About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, plan, and implement physical therapy treatment programs for individual patients
- Restore and maintain function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disabilities
- Provide care for inpatient and/or outpatient caseload
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team regarding patient needs
- Complete evaluations and treatments according to established standards of care and the physical therapy practice act
- Select assessment tools, tests, and measures; set goals
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust treatment accordingly
- Reassess patients as needed or at least every 2 weeks and discharge patients in a timely manner
- Communicate with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and discharge planning
- Perform screenings, including lymphedema, fall-risk, and rehabilitation-need screenings
- Accurately document evaluations and treatment sessions in the electronic medical record
- Document billing charges and complete charge sheets within Medicare guidelines
- Perform live documentation for all patients with no more than 2 billing errors per month
- Contribute to presentations, publications, student/intern supervision, and departmental education efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- BLS Certification
- Temporary Florida license expected; must pass licensing exam within 90 days of hire to continue employment
- Lymphedema Certification
- One year of clinical experience preferred
- Clinical experience in an acute care hospital during PT school may be accepted
