About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for virtual patients.
- Provide accurate information and instructions to virtual care patients, caregivers, and clinical teams.
- Manage patient worklists, coordinate patient needs, and utilize information technology systems.
- Coordinate the flow of virtual visit patients, families, and caregivers.
- Support patient flow and patient access functions.
- Collaborate with leadership on projects to optimize patient flow.
- Evaluate patient flow, wait times, scheduling, registration, checkout, time to appointment, and delays.
- Identify barriers and improvement opportunities, collect data, and share findings with leadership.
- Participate in meetings, committees, and patient-experience improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and technical issues.
- Conduct follow-up calls or messages to gather feedback and address post-visit concerns.
- Assess and troubleshoot technical challenges with step-by-step support for virtual care services.
- Resolve inquiries according to department protocols and escalate when appropriate.
- Follow up on messages and escalate unresolved matters to management.
- Maintain knowledge of support technology systems and interdepartment networking platforms.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED required.
- At least 3 years of experience in healthcare or related field providing customer service, patient care support or healthcare administration.
- In lieu of 3 years of experience, an Associate's degree with 1 year of experience as described above may be considered.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or applicable Military Training (preferred; will also accept Oncology Tech and Pharmacy Tech experience).
- Experience in healthcare and/or technology support (preferred).
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of Cerner Scheduling (Capstone)—appointment modification, scheduling and reading provider templates (preferred).
