About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain observability tools and platforms
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability practices into the development lifecycle
Create and adopt standardised observability frameworks
Design, implement, and refine telemetry data pipelines
Collect, aggregate, and normalise telemetry data from diverse sources
Advocate for best practices in code instrumentation
Contribute to a comprehensive service inventory tracking changes and impacts
Share knowledge and promote innovation and excellence in observability
Enhance monitoring systems and operational excellence across platforms
Enable engineers to diagnose issues and optimise platform usage

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid background in software engineering, with a passion for observability and monitoring of distributed systems
Experience with at least one major cloud-based provider
Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and Sentry
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform
Knowledge of Linux systems and the shell
Experience developing or adopting libraries for integration with observability tools
Good coding skills in PHP, Java, Python, or Go
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment
Bonus: Prior experience with Data Analytics and Data Pipelines
CV must be submitted in English
Must be able to work in Portugal; relocation or visa support is not offered
