About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as legal support for the UK business and wider international Moneycorp Group, predominantly focusing on regulatory matters
- Lead on product, regulatory and commercial legal matters
- Advise on building, launching, marketing and operating products, including multicurrency operations, payment and cross-border transactions, digital banking models and digital wallets
- Advise on payment services, electronic money, cross-border payments, foreign exchange services, safeguarding, CASS and consumer protection requirements
- Assist with responses to audits, complaints and enforcement actions from the FCA, CBI and GFSC
- Support applications for regulatory authorisations, permissions, registrations and licence variations
- Assist with Financial Ombudsman Service and equivalent complaints
- Advise on compliance with payments, financial services, AML/CFT and other regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Review, negotiate and advise on contracts for Group functions
- Monitor, report and horizon-scan regulatory changes affecting the business, including E-money, PSD, MiFID II and digital asset directives
- Assist the wider Group legal team with commercial, corporate, litigation and employment matters
- Instruct external legal counsel where appropriate
- Assist with organisation of Group insurance cover
Requirements
What you’ll need- Legal knowledge and application of FSMA, E-money, PSD2, MiFID II and digital asset regulation
- Knowledge of FCA and PRA rules and guidance relating to financial services
- UK qualified lawyer
- 5+ years of experience gained in a large law firm and/or in-house with a major firm
- Previous regulatory legal experience
- Qualified solicitor with at least 4–5 years of post-qualification experience
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to multitask accurately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
