About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply fundamental actuarial principles to analyze healthcare claims data
Review value-based contracts to ensure financial performance modeling accounts for contract requirements with payers and providers
Develop, maintain, and analyze models for IBNR and financial performance projections
Reconcile actuarial inputs and outputs to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability
Coordinate with internal and external actuaries and assist with data reconciliations
Collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders across the company
Perform financial analyses to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and key drivers impacting contract performance
Validate and reconcile data from multiple internal and external sources to support actuarial analyses and reporting
Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex analytical results into actionable business recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in actuarial analysis, healthcare analytics, financial analysis, or a related field preferred
Successful completion of at least one Society of Actuaries exam and commitment to working toward ASA designation
Knowledge of database concepts, analysis development, and decision tools
Proficient in SQL/R/Python
Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information across different teams within the organization
Critical thinker and self-starter
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools such as Word and PowerPoint
Experience with Databricks, PowerBI, or similar tools preferred
Actuarial or healthcare-related internship or experience preferred
Prior Medicare Advantage, Value-Based Care, or Medical Economics experience preferred
