About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule and participate in meetings with POD leadership to review audit results and support accurate diagnosis documentation
- Develop disease-specific coding and documentation materials, including presentations and handouts
- Manage open encounters and collaborate with APPs and MDs to support timely note closure
- Assist with provider education sessions, including POD education series and training initiatives
- Support POD MDs with gap list reviews and documentation opportunities
- Provide timely communication to providers regarding clinical documentation opportunities and queries
- Support audit activities through chart review and identification of documentation opportunities
- Partner with leadership and clinical teams to implement education based on audit findings
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPC or CRC Certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of Medicare Risk Adjustment experience
- Ability to present to small and mid-sized groups on coding and documentation topics
- Knowledge of HCC models, risk adjustment, and compliant documentation of diagnosis and Category II codes
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Current knowledge of regulatory, documentation, and coding guidelines including CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and E/M coding
- Familiarity with STARs performance measures and metrics
- Written and verbal communication skills, including communication with providers
