About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with the Digital Operations Center of Excellence (CoE)
- Define and evolve the corporate observability strategy
- Establish architectural standards and guidelines for metrics, logs, traces, and events
- Define principles for the generation, collection, correlation, storage, and consumption of observability data
- Support the development of observable applications from the design stage by incorporating observability requirements into solution architecture
- Define application instrumentation standards, particularly using OpenTelemetry
- Support the expansion of observability coverage across corporate platforms, applications, and services
- Define standards for distributed tracing, structured logging, and application metrics
- Establish strategies for tagging and monitoring business journeys
- Support the definition and implementation of SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets
- Define architectural standards for observability in microservices and distributed architectures
- Support initiatives related to APM (Application Performance Monitoring)
- Define and promote observability best practices integrated into the software development lifecycle
- Incorporate observability non-functional requirements into DevSecOps pipelines
- Support the creation of architectural guardrails and Quality Gates
- Evaluate tools and technologies related to observability
- Support the definition of observability architectures for hybrid environments
- Contribute to SRE, reliability, and software engineering initiatives
- Support the creation of standards and, where applicable, corporate libraries for logs, metrics, and traces
- Produce and review architecture documents, standards, models, and other artifacts
- Act in a consultative capacity with architecture, development, infrastructure, DevSecOps, and operations teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of software architecture
- Knowledge of distributed architectures
- Knowledge of microservices
- Knowledge of REST APIs
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry
- Knowledge of distributed tracing
- Knowledge of structured logging
- Knowledge of application metrics
- Knowledge of SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets
- Knowledge of APM (Application Performance Monitoring)
- Knowledge of observability in microservices
- Knowledge of application instrumentation
- Knowledge of CI/CD, GitOps, Quality Gates, and architectural guardrails
- Knowledge of integrating non-functional requirements into pipelines and automated tests
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, .NET, and Angular is desirable
- Experience with or knowledge of Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack, and OpenSearch
- Additional advantages: experience in large-scale enterprise environments; OpenTelemetry; Dynatrace; distributed architectures and microservices; SRE and Reliability Engineering; enterprise architectural standards; cloud, hybrid environments, and Kubernetes; long-term observability strategies
- Preferred certifications: OpenTelemetry Practitioner; Dynatrace Associate/Professional; AWS Certified Developer; Microsoft Azure Developer Associate; CKAD — Certified Kubernetes Application Developer
