About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, and A/B test new features in a cross-functional team using agile principles
Own, with the team, the back-end integration with the OpenSearch engine
Build and maintain infrastructure on AWS
Build and maintain customer-focused frontend web features using React and GraphQL
Write clean code using AWS, Terraform, Node.js, .NET, C#, TypeScript, and GraphQL
Use GitHub for source control and CI/CD pipelines
Build appropriate tests to ensure safety when writing new code and contributing to the codebase
Support client teams with service integrations through guidance, technical assistance, and tailored solutions
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to deliver AI/ML-driven features using internal ML inference APIs and external LLMs
Coach colleagues and enhance team skills through knowledge sharing
Engage with Moonpig’s wider engineering community and champion best practices across teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or comparable search-engine technology; OpenSearch experience particularly valuable
Experience across frontend and backend development
Experience with parts of the technology stack, including AWS serverless, React, Node.js, TypeScript, C#, and GraphQL
Ability to collaborate effectively on complex technical tasks and contribute to design discussions
Ability to deliver high-quality solutions
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with non-technical audiences
Willingness to learn new processes, techniques, and technologies
Experience working with serverless, event-driven systems desirable
Technical knowledge base and experience applying engineering best practices
Experience or capability to provide technical mentoring and leadership
