About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up and operate multiple punch press machines to stamp/cut metal parts
  • Read and interpret work orders, quality and related documents, and technical drawings
  • Log in and out of jobs correctly in the company system
  • Adjust machine settings for material type, thickness, and required tolerances
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues
  • Collaborate with the tooling department regarding quality issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Record production data and report discrepancies or defects
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Complete work orders and department-related paperwork
  • Maintain department housekeeping (6S) and strive for continuous improvement
  • Observe company and safety rules
  • Understand the cost of scrap contamination and guard against it
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • 1–3 years operating punch press or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring instruments
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background investigation
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States, Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, feel/touch, and use close, peripheral, and depth vision as specified
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50–75 lbs.
