About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide subject matter expertise on applicable privacy regulations, laws, industry standards, procedures, and controls
  • Assist with gap analysis and advise on controls required after new or amended regulations and laws
  • Advise business stakeholders on privacy-related issues in products and services
  • Guide business stakeholders and consult with legal and compliance colleagues on Privacy Impact Assessments for WM systems, models, and third-party services
  • Identify privacy risks and control requirements through efficient, comprehensive, and effective assessment processes
  • Consult on data subject access rights requests
  • Produce guidance and assist with training initiatives
  • Advise on privacy implications of in-flight and proposed activities involving sensitive client, consumer, and employee information
  • Consult on collection, use, storage, and sharing of sensitive information, including potential expansion to new jurisdictions and increased artificial intelligence usage
  • Work cross-functionally with centralized privacy legal and compliance teams, business area legal coverage teams, business process and product owners, and technology partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • In-depth knowledge of data privacy compliance laws including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and FCRA
  • Working knowledge of digital privacy technologies and practices, including cookie consent frameworks, tracking technologies, pixels, tags, and preference management tools
  • Experience advising all levels of an organization on privacy considerations and control implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, learning quickly, being resourceful, and shouldering additional responsibility
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry, preferably wealth management
  • Comfort challenging and escalating risks and decisions
  • Willingness to be flexible and agile when business priorities or external forces affect team coverage needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team
  • Experience handling U.S. and international privacy matters
