About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take inbound calls from patients, attorneys, insurance companies and vendors
- Make outbound follow-up and account-resolution calls
- Respond to written inquiries
- Discuss payment and financial assistance options
- Process and input patient data
- Fulfill document requests
- Maintain performance and quality standards, including preventing abandoned calls
- Ensure confidential-data and HIPAA compliance
- De-escalate complaints about current or past-due services and balances
- Research the patient accounting system regarding previous visits
- Work under the direction of the Customer Service Manager
- Escalate issues to team leads or functional caregivers as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- H.S. Diploma - Required
- 1 Year - Experience with Customer Service - Required
- Communicates clearly and concisely; good hand eye coordination
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Maintains good rapport and professional relationship with caregivers
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Ability to operate computer, telephone, fax and copier continuously/repetitively
- Ability to sit, walk and stand
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Excellent short-term and long-term memory
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and follow system policies and procedures
- Ability to visually assess paper and electronic data, hear telephone and converse
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to quickly assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Ability to comprehend medical terms
- Analytical skills to resolve complex problems using scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
- Knowledge and experience with information systems and Internet usage

- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekend and evening coverage
