About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver highway and drainage projects
- Complete assigned tasks according to quality standards, timescales, and budgeted hours
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop design solutions meeting client requirements and regulatory standards
- Comply with industry standards and safety regulations
- Ensure work follows Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures
- Provide technical mentoring to the Highways team and others
- Lead knowledge management and digital delivery initiatives
- Supervise and mentor staff, identify professional development opportunities, and perform line management for designated direct reports
- Foster right-first-time delivery and support Project Managers/Principals with effective project delivery
- Help manage workloads, forecasting, team utilisation, staffing, projects, and bids
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and new technologies
- Work within multidisciplinary teams on challenging highway infrastructure projects
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and external clients
- Provide technical guidance while developing skills through training and development programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree qualified in civil engineering (BE/B. Tech./ME/M. Tech.)
- Minimum 8+ years working experience in drainage and road design
- Experience and a commitment to effective management of Health, Safety and Welfare, Safety by Design
- Ability to deliver high quality design models, drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications
- Excellent understanding of relevant standards, including DMRB and Local Highway Authority standards
- Experience of managing project teams and technical leadership
- Experience in drafting bid proposals and raising an early warning notice
- Experience working with clients such as National Highways, Network Rail, and Local Highways Authorities
- Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff and clients, written and verbal
- Technical competence in surface and foul water drainage design
- Ability to independently deliver work and integrate with larger project teams with minimal supervision
- Experience preparing concept and detailed designs of 2D and 3D car park layouts and private streets
- Thorough understanding and experience using 3-dimensional highway design software such as Civil3d and InfoDrainage
- Good experience in utilities coordination and working with contractors
- Ability to conduct independent technical checks
- General IT software skills, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and ProjectWise
- Valid Right to Work document in India, such as a Passport, Voter ID, or Birth Certificate
- Chartered Engineer (ICE or CIHT) is an added advantage
