About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in leading branch operations and personnel to ensure exceptional member service and branch goal achievement
  • Coach and develop branch team members on AAA skills, policies, procedures, philosophies, and branch functions
  • Drive accountability and support a culture of exceptional member service
  • Hold personalized 1:1s and create individual development plans with team members
  • Evaluate direct reports and assist with employee performance evaluations
  • Support change management, hiring, onboarding, development, and retention strategies
  • Resolve member and employee concerns and follow up promptly
  • Represent the credit union in the community and support community development
  • Assist with daily branch operations, including cash management and compliance
  • Use Member Value Review, Value Analyzer, and New Account Framework sales tools
  • Approve or deny loans and act as backup for branch manager loan exceptions
  • Track and measure team productivity, accuracy, sales, and service
  • Gain knowledge of credit union financials and apply policies to member needs
  • Assist with branch security and property maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including BSA, OFAC, FACT Act, GLBA, Regulation CC, and Regulation DD
  • Partner with internal business partners to serve members and develop staff
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and coverage for credit union products and services
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review assigned staff; estimate personnel needs and assign work
  • Recommend candidates, conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews, and apply company policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have 3+ years of financial industry experience, including 1+ years of lending experience
  • Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent
  • Must meet all Branch Progression training expectations of all positions supervised
  • Notary Public or ability to obtain within first 90 days where possible
  • Must be able to qualify annually as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E Act Registration
  • Basic computer operating skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Symitar experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of credit union policies and procedures
  • Related experience in operations, lending, loan origination, and sales in a financial institution
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on credit union policies
  • Ability to supervise, train, lead, and coach others
  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record of preparing and mentoring new leaders, including success handling difficult situations
  • Ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms consistently
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch occasionally
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be eligible to work as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E. Act Registration
