About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain software using programming concepts and software development processes
Create software according to agreed stories and technical and functional design specifications
Conduct research and analysis for projects and assignments
Apply software design and architecture concepts
Manage time to deliver work within agreed timescales
Contribute to ballpark and detailed development estimates
Create or review technical documentation and project artifacts
Keep managers informed about work status, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
Troubleshoot and debug software in production and non-production environments
Participate in a developer on-call rotation when required
Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday production support when called upon
Analyze, design, build, modify, debug, and correct software applications and modules
Perform code reviews and support documentation, training, and business systems delivery
Collaborate with Project Managers, developers, QA teams, senior staff, and other stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Development experience reading, developing, and troubleshooting software in BASIC, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and SQL
Experience with HTML and XML
Solid knowledge of programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and software development patterns
Ability to translate and develop logic from technical specifications
Knowledge and experience developing computer software and related concepts, practices, and processes
Ability to understand business needs for assigned projects
Knowledge of hardware, networking, operating systems, and database management systems
Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Waterfall or Scrum
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
Knowledge or experience with multi-value or NoSQL databases preferred
Knowledge or experience working with organizations that implement a distribution model preferred
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
