About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform technical data research, assessment, and acquisition using the Internet, supplier websites, search engines, spreadsheets, or internal databases to determine HTS and ECCN codes
Review product descriptions and technical data to determine import/export classification according to HTS schedules and approved compliance resources
Research and audit import/export invoices and reconcile discrepancies
Assign HTS codes and ECCNs to purchased and sold electronic products
Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and technical product drawings to determine classifications
Work across different categories in the Commerce Control List (CCL)
Enter classification codes according to approved documentation standards
Administer internal audits, ensure accurate classifications, and oversee import/export logistics and compliance records
Provide classification research assistance for audits and customs requests
Determine the applicability of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations for relevant HTS codes and ECCNs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Electronic Design, Systems Design, Test Engineering, or Electronic Component Engineering experience required
Experience in Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Technical Services, trade compliance analyst, HTS code assignment, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs)
Must be fluent in the English language, both verbal and written
Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic or any equivalent discipline
Experience can be a combination of internal and external experience
Minimum Highly Effective performance in current role for internal candidates
