About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a regional cohort of 12–15 part-time Neighborhood Captains
- Provide daily support and troubleshoot voter contact issues
- Ensure Captains perform high-quality voter contact and meet voter contact and relationship-building goals
- Conduct regular one-on-one feedback sessions to address performance gaps, coach staff, and build skills
- Work with existing Detroit staff to hold citywide culture-building and skill-building events
- Work with Detroit staff and Community Rising Leadership to execute a robust GOTV operation
- Have weekly check-ins with the manager
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Perform other administrative duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2 cycles of field management experience for voter contact programs
- Experience managing large teams (10 or more people)
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, including direct, constructive conversations with underperforming staff while maintaining trust and morale
- Experience onboarding and training new staff, ideally in a fast-paced or temporary environment
- Comfortable learning and troubleshooting canvassing/organizing tools such as ECanvasser and Hustle
- Proficient with Slack, Google Workspace, ADP, or similar timekeeping systems
- Able to read and interpret dashboards to diagnose problems
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be available to start by September 25, 2026
