About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement integrated multimedia communications supporting divisional, site, and regional strategies
  • Connect site employee performance to enterprise narratives and goals
  • Implement communications solutions for wired and non-wired manufacturing employees
  • Develop product, manufacturing performance, supply continuity, operational readiness, and reputation communications
  • Drive integrated editorial strategy and targeted outreach across sites and digital channels
  • Identify and develop storylines, change-management initiatives, and workforce engagement opportunities
  • Prepare and brief site and manufacturing leaders for message delivery, media engagement, speaking opportunities, site events, town halls, and announcements
  • Develop strategies, programs, and materials for regional leadership
  • Advise site leaders on franchise, operational, site-level, and supply-related communications issues
  • Serve as liaison to site leadership, divisional communications and policy teams, and local trade and news media
  • Manage press releases, media briefing documents, leadership talking points, newsletters, digital screens, and response documents through manufacturing, medical, and legal review
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and public relations agencies and help manage regional communications budgets
  • Create communications that educate employees on policies and reduce organizational risk exposure
  • Develop crisis-response plans, core messages, and leader talking points for quality, safety, supply, business continuity, activism, and media issues
  • Support corporate brand differentiation at site level

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, life sciences, or a related field with 6 or more years of communications experience, OR a minimum of a high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience
  • Minimum six years' experience in communications or public relations
  • Deep understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and manufacturing landscape
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of product strategy, supply reliability, quality expectations, regulatory requirements, and external stakeholder perceptions
  • Strong executive presence and excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate in a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience managing high-volume communications through standard review channels or a medical/legal review board
  • Crisis communications experience and ability to provide strategic counsel and short-term communication tactics
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across physical sites
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated communications programs for wired and non-wired workforces
  • Experience in internal and external communications, executive communications, change management, and issues/crisis management
  • Proficiency with social and digital channels
  • Ability to translate science, business, or technical manufacturing information into compelling communications
