About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work face-to-face with customers in the Springfield, Massachusetts territory
- Understand and identify veterinary clinic, shelter facility, and corporate account customer needs
- Sell the company's Animal Health Companion Animal product portfolio
- Support pull-through activities related to customer strategy
- Position the Animal Health division as a source of value and technical innovation
- Communicate the Animal Health product portfolio in meaningful, customer-relevant ways
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customers and meet key personnel and decision-makers
- Understand practice structures, business models, key influencers, customer needs, and business opportunities
- Develop customer strategies for interactions, relationships, solutions, partner involvement, offerings, and sales growth
- Develop territory and account plans for key customers
- Partner with National Account Managers, Corporate Account Team, and Distribution Field Partners on key accounts and corporate-owned clinics
- Collaborate across the organization to increase knowledge of the Animal Health product portfolio
- Share knowledge with regional team members to support team growth and development
- Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines
- Identify programs and services to address customer needs and provide education and training opportunities
- Work with leadership and Field Professional Services to develop and deliver relevant customer offerings
- Maintain current knowledge of Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitors
- Communicate relevant customer, industry, product, and market trends throughout the organization
- Develop and meet learning and development objectives agreed with leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, which could include professional sales, distribution, marketing, military service, or veterinary/healthcare/scientific fields; OR Bachelor's Degree with 0–3 years sales experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Motivation and focus on achieving measurable, tangible results
- Commitment to collaboration
- Understanding of the position's contribution to business goals and willingness to adopt process changes
- Ability to independently understand customers' evolving needs and expectations and use customer organization and culture knowledge to drive results
- Effective application of selling techniques and approaches while managing multiple customers/accounts at different sales-process stages
- Ability to articulate the value of Animal Health products using approved resources
- Ability to identify, develop, and independently manage different account mixes within a territory, including complex accounts
- Ability to develop plans based on unique opportunities and customer needs
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to use an iPad
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel overnight and participate in some weekend activity
- Valid driving license
- Sales experience and/or Animal Health Industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of animal health biological and pharmaceutical products preferred
- Understanding of or experience working with distribution preferred
- No visa sponsorship
